The phrase “Hollywood has run out of ideas” has been used a lot over the last few decades by movie fans. With studios cranking out lackluster sequels, prequels, re-imaginings, reboots and remakes, it’s no wonder cinema goers have become jaded. The most frustrating part of this is most fans would be fine with Hollywood remakes if Hollywood would remake films THAT NEEDED REMAKING! And no genre is more ripe for the remake harvest than horror movies!
Too often we, the horror fans, are subjected to releases that have no connecting tissue to its original, other than a name and a gimmick. Most remakes are blatant cash crabs, but sometimes (and believe me it’s a rarity) studios actually deliver a product worthy of its predecessor. Hell, some even surpass the original! Grab your score cards because it’s time for 2GuysTalkingHorror to count down the 7 Best Horror Remakes on this episode of Lethal Listings
