March 2020, the Coronavirus, COVID-19 hit, and it hit hard. The virus does not discriminate. It doesn’t care what gender you are, your age, race, religion, or socioeconomic status. It attacks everyone across the board. People were told to stay home, work from home, stay away from friends and family that didn’t live inside your home. The world basically shut down. Small businesses suffered and some did not make it. Larger businesses were able to stay afloat by having people work from their homes. However – We First responders and essential employees were not able to work from home. Our work still needed to be done and we had to report to work – every day.
This is my story of how we handled the onset of the pandemic in dispatch inside the most-recent episode of The Digitally Dispatched Podcast!
